Off to Bergen on the ferry from Flam:
Nordhordland Bridge. Cable stayed bridge. 1991-1994. Specifications: 48 Cables, 1 mile long, 325 ft tall H shaped pylon, 105 ft. clearance, 26 km North of Bergen.
1. Bryggen – a series of commercial buildings on the east side of Vagen Harbor. Some of these buildings date from 1702.

5. Nykirken (The “new” Church). 1621. Rebuilt many times due to fire. 1955 Spire built according to original plans.

18. Bergen Cathedral. est. 1181. In 1248, 1270, 1463, 1623, 1640 fires destroyed the church. The current church (Cathedral) was built after the 1640 fire but before the 1665 Battle of Vagen when either a Dutch or British cannonball shot from the harbor became embedded in the tower wall to the left of the Gothic stained glass window above the entry.
19. Bergen ? This art installation was the winner of an art contest. The artist said that artwork encourages a sense of curiosity and open-mindedness towards the surroundings…
